LAHORE (Web Desk) – In an unusual way to express his anti-Modi sentiment, a restaurant owner in Lahore offered a unique deal to the locals.
Hit Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo with a shoe and claim a free soft drink.
“Hit the devil, claim a drink,” says the poster placed outside a restaurant on MM Alam Road.
People, one after another, picked up the shoe and landed it on Modi’s face to vent their anger.
“I am ready to fight him till last drop of my blood,” a 28-year-old man said.
“If he ever cast an evil eye upon Pakistan, we will pluck his eyes out,” another person said.
Tension between Pakistan and India has been high since an Indian security force crackdown on protests in Occupied Kashmir began in July, following young Muslim freedom fighter Burhan Wani’s killing by Indian security forces.
Relations worsened in September when suspected militants killed 18 soldiers in a raid on an Indian army base in Uri town of Baramullah district, an attack India blamed on Pakistan. Pakistan denies the accusations.
