Glenn Maxwell Took Best Catch of 2016

THERE’S just no keeping The Big Show out of the game.
Glenn Maxwell may not be a fan of his nickname but it proved apt on Sunday (AEST) after he made a stunning contribution to a match he wasn’t even supposed to be a part of.
The all-rounder was left out of Australia’s XI for the one-day tri-series match against South Africa in St Kitts, making way for veteran batsman George Bailey after a lean run of scores.
Despite his axing Maxwell still produced a moment for the highlights reel after taking the field as a substitute for David Warner.
Warner went to the dressing room after hurting his finger attempting a diving catch, but Maxwell soon showed him how it was done by taking a one-handed stunner to remove Aaron Phangiso.
The brilliant catch, which Maxwell took while fielding at gully, left bowler Mitchell Starc with a massive grin on his face while Phangiso could only curse his luck as he walked off the field.
His dismissal ended any hopes South Africa had of victory, with Australia soon taking the final wicket needed to bowl the Proteas out for 252 and secure a 36-run victory.
