Fox Announces A Mystery Marvel IMAX Movie And You Know It's Deadpool!

Now, in a world increasingly divided by ideology, politics and the bittersweet tang of the Marvel/DC rivalry, it's reassuring to know that there are a few things we can pretty much all agree on: That tiny animals are cute, say, or that gravity is a thing. When it comes to movies, though, things tend to quickly become a whole lot more fraught, with tangled webs of personal preference making a mess of any kind of collective opinion.
For the most part, though, we can surely all agree that there's something inherently intriguing about a mysterious unnamed movie. After all, nothing says "the future is filled with endless possibility" quite like a movie that's yet to be announced. If you're on board with that, though, then get ready to become mildly over-excited, because...

Fox Just Announced A Mystery Marvel IMAX Movie

[X-Men: Apocalypse/Fox]

One which, it seems, will bring an as-yet unnamed Marvel movie produced by Fox to IMAX in the near future. To quote the pertinent press release:
Re-upping their existing long-term partnership, IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX) and Twentieth Century Fox, a division of 21st Century Fox (NASDAQ: FOX), jointly announced the companies have signed a new multi-picture agreement including four key future tentpoles from the Fox slate. The deal includes 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure,' 'Predator,' 'Alita: Battle Angel' and the studio’s untitled Marvel film, all of which will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® format and released in IMAX® theatres worldwide.
Which is great and all, especially if you like seeing superheroes run around on gigantic screens (and that's most of us, presumably). The big question it raises, though?

Which Fox-Made Marvel Movie Are We Actually Talking About?

[X-Men: Apocalypse/Fox]
[X-Men: Apocalypse/Fox]
Y'see, Fox actually has a whole bunch of Marvel-themed projects in development as we speak, including (but not necessarily limited to) 2017's Wolverine solo movie, Deadpool 2, The New Mutants, Gambit, a Stan Lee biopic, an improbable Fantastic Four sequel and, of course, another X-Men movie (which may of may not adapt the Dark Phoenix Saga).
All of which means that it's relatively unclear just which Marvel movie the above deal between Fox and IMAX might be referring to. WithWolverine 3 the next film scheduled to arrive, it might seem that it's the most likely — though with Fox and IMAX having previously announcedthat it'll appear on the biggest of big screens, it would seem odd to now refer to it as an "untitled Marvel film."
Instead, then, is it possible that the new deal instead refers to the upcoming Deadpool 2, seemingly confirming that the film is now very much on the way? Or, could the studio perhaps be planning a surprise Marvel movie in 2017 that we don't yet know about?
Here's hoping, bub(s).
